Hydro Blasting of Heat
Exchangers, Boilers, Tanks, Reactors and Piping
A
recent demonstration of the cutting power of the patented Multi-Phase Hydroblaster
was performed at the Atofina Polymers Plant in Deer Park, Texas. The maintenance
department watched as the hydro-blast technician cut an 8" x 12" window into a
solid block of high-density polymer plastic. Next, he cut the refrigerator size
block in half with the Multi-Phased Hydroblaster. The Multi-Phased Hydroblaster,
combines a patented injection cleaning system and NA-184, a stable hydrolyzed
ionic water hardener. This system creates a soft abrasive from the water, (water
hardener) that evaporates, just like water, leaving no residue. The surface is
ready to paint or be put back into service. The feed rate of NA-184 to water is
100 parts per million (PPM). It is non-toxic and environmentally safe. It is also
undetectable during the cleaning process or upon completion. The hydrolyzed ionic
water causes debris and waste deposits to literally  stick
to the droplets and rinse off in one application. A fifty-percent larger nozzle
is utilized, removing more material much faster. A 20 percent reduction in time
to complete a project can add up to 20 percent savings overall. When high pressure
is needed to cut through high or low density polymers, rubber, coke, or scaling,
Clean-Co Systems can "pump up the volume" with 400 horsepower, 40,000 psi and
twelve gallons per minute of flow. (G.P.M. = depth of cut) Compared to four gallons
per minute from conventional systems, Clean-Co Systems can reduce time and cost

 Versatility:
What makes the system unique is its versatility. The Multi-Phase Hydroblaster
can transition from cleaning paint and grease from equipment, to cutting high
density polymer plastic out of a reactor. This is where you get to lower cost
by using one piece of equipment, one contractor, one team of multi-skilled technicians
and several applications of the system. Another application of the MPH is safely
cleaning flat surfaces and decks with the NLB Corp. "Vortex" spin jet attachment.
The Vortex is a "lawn Mower" style high-pressure surface cleaner with a vacuum
recovery port for environmentally safe operation. Clean-Co even has the Vacuum
Truck to go with it. The surface is evenly cleaned to "like new" status with out
the dangers of debris flying from conventional wand blasting. Now you're reducing

Clean-Co has even used the Multi-Phase Hydroblaster to perform a cold cut into
the side of an oil storage tank. The steel plate was over an inch thick and the
section cut from the tank was at least 12'x12'. For obvious  reasons,
a torch could not be used and a safer approach had to be utilized. The safe cutting
power of the system can all so be realized when removing high density polymer
plastic from in side a reactor. Some facilities have resorted to chain saws, pick
axe, and chisels. That sounds like an incident just waiting to happen. CLEANING
